Unfortunately the hash is about as active as this site. Several people have mentioned the possibility of being interested in reviving it over the past couple of years, but so far they've not actually shown up at any of the meetings they scheduled.

To be restarted the group really needs a core group of people willing to mismanage it-- schedule runs, notify people, set trails.

My husband and I will be moving to Almaty in late August, and combining running around with drinking sounds like an excellent way to relive my college years.

We are in Baku right now and discovered for the first time the Hash community. We plan to be in Almaty around May 15 and would be please to join for a walk.

Is there still a Hash going on in Almaty? Where can we join and who should we contact.

Also we have a question about another subject. We are two travelers doing a trip around the world and are looking for a place to stay. If anyone has some suggestions of a place for free or a cheap pension or hostel, please let us know.

Whats happened with this Hash I am coming to Almaty in beginning of Nov ( not sure if thats hashing weather but whatever

Am sure there must be enough expats from different places and some locals also. have hashed throughout asia and always seemed to have numbers there. anyway the forum seems to be the only point of contact - as far as I know. Have not been a Hash committee member before but ok to set trails. Dont know the place yet so maybe not a good idea yet- dont know the local protocols Anyway any comments ideas. Cheers Chief Squirt
