I would like to know what are the living/working conditions for a single female with two Alaskan Malamutes? What about access to internet, mail etc, genrally communication/telecommunications? What are the difficulties one can face being on your own (ie getting a car, housing etc, work environment..)what vaccination etc do I need?
would appreciate any, ANY piece of information from anyone.

I'm a producer for the BBC in London. We're about to make a four-part series on the 'Stans'. From the time I had a toilet seat place over my head whilst I drank beer from a potty in Ghana, I have been determined to film with a hash and now may be my chance!

We will be in Kazakhstan from March 30th for about 12 days. Does this coincide with a hash and would it be possible to film one?

Just surfing the hash web sites. Almaty looks like a great place and great place to hash. I was struck by how modernized the city looks. From the pic's it looks like any place in the US, Germany, England. I was surprised. R most of y'all embassy or international business types?

I noticed the above picture in the 2000 archives. I can tell you a bit about it, although I was mostly drunk at the time, so I don't know how accurate my recollection is. This was the Hash at which Hamish (MMF) almost died. You will find him in the picture at the far left, wearing shorts. The Hash was run in the spring at Al-Atau, or one of those Al-places in the mountains. I forget who set it--probably someone sadistic like Jonny Black. Anyway, MMF was fine early on, as the run was in the sun. But once we hit the shade, he was in trouble. Lost Cause led the way. Being the only animate object in the world lighter than helium, she floated across the snow like Christ water-skiing on the Dead Sea. But MMF--being a multi-stone concentration of cholesterol and clumsiness--sunk to his eyeballs in the deep snow with each step. He was actually getting hypothermia and starting to shake. Someone gave him a jacket, and I gave him my gloves (I was given a down-down later for being too helpful). I think that was also the Hash at which Spermbank and I were given our Hash names (which would place it in late February). It was cold, we had beer poured all over us, and then we found that there was no hot water in the lodge. The name "Rinkeldik" was generous--under the circumstances, "Nodik" would have been a more accurate description. So I hope that background gives you some idea of what to name the picture.

All my best to the Hash--I've hashed in Montenegro, Albania and India, and none of them compares to the Almaty Hash.

I see by the poll that so far Chimbulak is the choice. If I may be so bold as to express my comments...Thank you. As you all know, Chimbulak can get pretty crowded on the weekends, expensive, very little room at the inn, long lines at the lift, poor service, not to mention the new housing developments wrecking most of the old trails from previous years (I would not want to be the first Hasher to be shot cutting through another persons property). In my opinion, Chimbulak seems to have lost it's ambiance as far as the Hash goes.

Now on the other hand, at Alma Tau, (if we book early) can have a nice hostel, nice wooded trails, good restaurant, and even a disco housed in an old munitions bunker. The Almaty Hash has been there before(please see the pic's)and had a blast. In my opinion, this location suites the Almaty HHH to a tee.

Just one Almaty Hashers opinion.

What a monkey circus I have witnessed on Sunday of August 8, 2004.

Hey guys, if you cannot drink at all (especially Pumpkin Eater), then do not!!! At least this DRUNK MONKEY had guts to come to Douglas and appologized for the mess. One good thing for him...

I do not why Saltanat MAMA-Monkey and Pink traffic Daugter-Monkey poured water on Trinitis Bitch while he was talking to other people(well, as I was told and saw it myself several times, these two monkeys always do some unpredictable and stupid things) but they underestimated his friend's (Drunk Monkey) stupid behaviour.

I am sure these three monkeys are reading my message. My point is that if you flirt with each other, do not get other HASHERs involved (as it happened on Sunday) in your mating. I hope many HASHERs will agree that we need neither ZOO nor Circus.
