Kap-Chick-Guy Hash July 25

Pumpkin Eater has arranged for next Sunday's hash, on July 25, to be an all-day excursion to Kapchigai. We will have a minivan big enough for about 11 people, and so far there are still 3 or 4 open spots. If you want to come on the Kap-Chick-Guy hash, notify Pumpkin Eater or Digital Dildo before Thursday, July 22.

We will meet on Sunday morning, July 25, at 09:00 at the corner of Jibek Joly and Pushkin streets (near the Green Bazaar) and take the van to Kapchigai. At approximately 17:00 or so we will leave to return to Almaty.

Items of note:

  • The hash will be providing beer.
  • Hashers will share the cost of transportation, about 6000 KZT. If the minivan fills up, it will be cheaper for everyone. If we get a lot of people, we can possibly get a second minivan, but people have to commit to going, actually show up, and pay.
  • Bring enough food to share. Again, to keep costs down, make or buy some food yourself and bring it with you.

Meet The Stans With Simon Reeve And The Beeb

Some of you may remember the March 2003 "BBC Run" where Simon Reeve and a BBC camera crew visited the Tien Shan Hash House Harriers while filming for a series called "Meet the Stans".

As it turns out, we were way too rowdy to be included in a BBC documentary, but the rest of the program is still bound to be worth watching, and will air on BBC today, Saturday July 10, at 1210 and 1910 GMT. Details on the series are attached.
